CARING FOR YOUR CRYSTALS

Although we love to keep our crystals on display, it is best to keep them wrapped in silk or velvet. This will protect them from absorbing any nasties. You could just do this with the extra special crystals used for occasional/specific purposes like rituals etc.
To be able to utilise the healing abilities that crystals have, you must ensure that when you purchase a crystal you cleanse it. This must also be done after wearing a crystal. Negative vibes can transmit from one person to another through the crystal, and any jewellery gifted to you by someone else must be cleansed.

If you are like most people and love to display your crystals around the home then they probably become quite dusty over time and will need a clean. Harder crystals like Quartz clusters (e.g. Clear, Amethyst Smoky, Rose, Citrine and other hard tumbled crystals) are more durable and can be soaked in warm natural soapy water for as long as required.
A very soft brush can be used on these crystals, but much care needs to be taken. Clusters with very fine points should be avoided. It is best to let these type of crystals dry naturally.
Softer crystals such as Fluorite, Calcites malachite, Celestite, Amber etc should be carefully polished with a soft cloth - avoiding any materials that could potentially scratch the surface of your crystal.
If you are concerned about cleaning your crystals simply soak them in plain water and give them a light polish, ensuring your crystal is not water soluble like Selenite.
When your crystals are clean, they are ready to be cleansed and recharged!
